Sambar

The stew that powers India. Bum Bholenath! See also: Jairam Cafe Sambar

pressure cook

  • chopped veggies (carrot, ladyfinger, drumstick, etc.)
  • lentils
  • turmeric powder
  • salt

separately roast, grind, add to stew and boil for ~5 min

  • coriander seeds
  • fenugreek seeds
  • shredded coconut
  • dried red chili

separately fry and add

  • mustard seeds
  • curry leaves
